I have a question about period pants
ohne period pants are proudly designed in England and manufactured in partnership with a fantastic plant in Indonesia. the plant is women-led (79% of the team identify as female, and 96% of the leadership team identify as female) and the leadership team prioritises ethical and optimum working conditions for all their employees. finding an ethically run, completely transparent manufacturer was a non-negotiable for us, so we’re thrilled to have found a manufacturer that completely aligns with our ethos and values. all team members are required to be over the age of 18 and are provided with medical insurance, given paid miscarriage and maternity leave, and have total salary transparency. the manufacturing plant also follows strict environmental policies.
our period pants are packed into individual mesh laundry bags that have been made from recycled plastic bottles and sent in a 100% recyclable cardboard box. all of the packaging is FSC certified (The Forest Stewardship Council), ensuring the supplier meets the highest environmental and social standards in the production of these boxes.
we recommend wearing one pair of period pants for the daytime and slipping into another pair for nighttime, but this will depend on your individual flow. you know your body best, so you’ll be able to decide what feels best after testing them out for one full period.
with proper care, your period pants can last 2+ years. modal is an incredibly durable fabric that keep its shape and integrity if treated well (remember: no heat!).
with proper usage, absolutely not! our period pants are safely designed for maximum freshness and should not contribute to any overgrowth of yeast. for ultimate freshness, we recommend swapping out your period pants every 8-12 hours or whenever you feel the maximum absorbency has been reached (two regular tampons worth). be sure to rinse your pants in cool water after each use and then pop in the washer on a cool, delicate cycle (about 30°) with similar colours.
a hundred times yes. breathability was a core focus for us when designing these period pants, and we’ve specifically chosen fabrics that are both leak-proof and breathable. the final layer of the gusset itself is made of a waterproof, leak-proof polyurethane laminate (pul). pul is well-known as the most breathable, waterproof fabric on the market, making it the core material in many high-performance outerwear, activewear and medical bedding. oftentimes waterproof materials will be totally inflexible and close off airflow, leading to that sticky sweaty feeling. rest assured our period pants were specifically designed to avoid this. the very best part about our period pants is that they don’t feel like period pants at all.
[email protected] so we can exchange them for another size or issue you a full refund within 14 days of purchase. we aren’t able to extend this timeframe, so please be sure to get in touch with us within those 14 days if something isn’t fitting right! also kindly note: due to the nature of period pants, none can be resold once they've been tried on. for this reason, we can only offer an exchange on your very first pair, giving you the opportunity to try out the size and fit to make sure you’re absolutely thrilled with your period pants.
reducing the amount of returns also ensures we're lessening our impact on the environment, as returns have a significant carbon footprint (worldwide, approximately 17 billion items are being returned every year for a total of 4.7 million metric tons of CO2 emitted yearly — yikes). but if you are unhappy with your purchase in any way, please do contact our team at [email protected] within 14 days so we can try and make it right for you!
definitely. our triple layer absorbent technology is an excellent option for bladder leaks, discharge and retrograde menstrual flow caused by endometriosis.
it’s best to rinse in cool water after use then wash on a cool, delicate cycle (about 30°) with similar colours. some things to avoid: using softener and bleach, soaking for extended periods and ironing. to protect the gusset and extend the longevity of your pair, it’s best to hang dry only. too many spins in the tumble dryer will cause the protective gusset layers to start breaking down with heat.
yes! Our period pants are completely vegan (along with every other ohne product). While many brands use wool and other non-vegan materials in the gusset of their period pants, we’re 100% committed to keeping all of our products vegan — forever ‘n always.
our period pants are made with 92% modal from natural sources and 8% elastane. modal is a luxurious, silky smooth material made from the pulp of beech trees. it feels absolutely fantastic on your skin, and the buttery smooth flexibility gently molds to fit the shape of your body flawlessly.
we’ve added our lil touch of magic to ‘em. 😉 we’ll let our co-founders, leah and nikki, personally touch on this: “when we decided to launch period pants, we tested a whole bunch on the market and frankly, didn’t love them. between us, we found the gusset too thick, garish styles (often tarnished in waistband logos), unexciting colours and too much synthetic material. to make matters worse, you had to stare at uninspiring underwear as you hand-washed it every day you bled. we wanted to develop a product that we loved, that we looked forward to wearing because it felt that damn good — not only the literal feel of soft af fabric, but also that feel-good feeling of wearing something you feel utterly fantastic in. beautiful colours and modern shapes shouldn’t be exclusive to non-bleed days. we want you to feel your best, every single day of your cycle.” our og collection features two stylish cuts — the classic bikini brief and high waist — in four lush colours: papaya, peach fizz, lilac sky and midnight black, so you can slip on a pair of beautifully designed underwear that make you feel bloody incredible. no thick, stiff gussets or awkward, ill-fitting designs in sight.
definitely! but this totally depends on your flow and personal preference. our og collection can hold up to 15ml of blood, the equivalent of two regular tampons. you know your flow best, so you’ll be able to decide whether you can slip on your period pants without any other protection, or if you need to pop something extra to be fully secure. for people with heavier flows who want to wear the same pair of period pants all day, you might consider combining with a tampon to ensure you’re at the right absorbency for your period.
not.at.all. with smell being one of the biggest concerns surrounding period pants, we made sure our pants were designed to be totally odour-eliminating. not only do our pants contain a wicking antimicrobial layer, which kills bacteria and zaps any smells, the gusset is also topped off with a specialized treatment that is specifically designed to absorb odours — the same compound that’s commonly used in active wear and medical devices. bleed freely knowing you’re staying fresh ‘n clean.
our period pants are specifically designed to keep you fresh ‘n dry whilst bleeding. the dry wicking material used on the top layer of the gusset quickly draws the blood away from your body and moves the moisture down into the second layer, so you never feel that icky wet feeling.
gone are the days where the phrase "period underwear" conjured up images of worn out, ratty, blood-stained knickers that have been used and abused to reckless abandon. modern-day period pants are a cutting-edge technology that perfectly marries impressive textile engineering and sophisticated design to deliver a pair of underwear that safely, effectively and comfortably absorbs menstrual blood.
the absorbent section, known as the gusset, is made up of three different layers that are expertly designed to absorb liquid and lock it inside the underwear. the top layer is made of a specialized moisture-wicking and antimicrobial fabric which draws the moisture in, followed by an ultra-absorbent layer that soaks up every bit of moisture. the final layer is a leak-proof but breathable lining, which traps and seals the moisture completely to prevent any drops from seeping out. the result is a technical feat, but what’s even more impressive is how bloody comfortable our period pants are. they work hard, look fantastic and feel like an absolute dream (just ask our fitting models: they all wanted to wear them as normal, everyday knickers).
yes! for ultimate freshness we recommend washing on a cool, delicate cycle (about 30°) with similar colours. some things to avoid: using softener and bleach, soaking for extended periods and ironing. to protect the gusset and extend the longevity of your pair, it’s best to hang dry only. too many spins in the tumble dryer will cause the protective gusset layers to start breaking down with heat.
I have a question about paying for my box and ohne’s refund policy
très annoying. send us a message via live chat or Facebook or an email at [email protected] and we’ll try to sort it out together.
we love our products and we think you will too, but we understand that relationships don't always work out. you can return any unused products to us at your own cost within 14 days, in the same condition within which you received them. please note that due to the nature of our products, if the goods have been unsealed we cannot accept the return. if you are unhappy with any of your ohne products, please contact us and we’ll do our best to make it right ([email protected]).
simply visit your account and adjust your billing address or preferred method of payment.
we accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. For international cards, simply add the international billing address you'd like to use to your profile and a UK address for shipping. we don't ship internationally...yet!
we charge your card when you place your first order. for your next orders, the renewal (and payment date) is 8 days before your requested delivery date. this gives us time to make sure you’ve got everything you need in time for your period.
i have a question about your CSR mission
we’ve introduced a new feature for our amazing babes - you can now gift your kit if you don’t need it in the month and we let you pick the charity to donate it to. head to your account to find out more - let us know what you think!
you’re bloody awesome. either refer a friend so they can get ohne our mission too, or you can donate directly through our partner’s website here.
the money is donated directly to the School Club Zambia - and then we show you the cool things they get up to. check out what makes The School Club Zambia so great.
for every month you have a period product membership, we donate to a ‘Girls Programme’ in rural Zambia run by an inspiring NGO called The School Club Zambia.
this programme provides innovative health education to girls in schools in rural Zambia, improves hygiene through the building of new and clean toilet blocks and helps girls learn how to make re-usable pads and learn to sew. the best bit? regular donations from your monthly box means a greater and more effective contribution, creating real sustainability for the girls included in the programmes.
read more about the work that school club zambia does here.
i have a question about how the ohne membership works
we'll be sorry to see you go, but you’ve got full flexibility here. you can deactivate anytime before your next renewal date, free of charge. if you deactivate after your renewal date, you’ll have one last box and then your membership will automatically end — but you’ll always be welcome back!
If you deactivate your new membership and want to cancel your order at any time in the first 14 days from receipt of your first box of products we can refund your products if they are returned to us unsealed. Please see our terms & conditions for more details on your ‘cooling off’ period rights.
no problem. simply log onto My Account and you’ll be able to view your orders. here you can skip your next delivery up to 8 days before your next ship date. otherwise, you can easily adjust your shipment schedule and postpone your next order.
of course! head to your account here where you have full flexibility to make these changes!
if your period has a mind of its own and doesn’t like commitment, you can change your frequency of delivery in your account to suit your needs or even skip a month if you’re starting to get overstocked. give us a shout if you need any help here ([email protected]).
absolutely. simply send us a quick message via live chat, facebook or email and we’ll sort it for you. or, even easier, head to your account where you have full flexibility to change/edit your kit at any time. we unfortunately cannot edit an order if it has already been processed (which is 8 days before you are expecting its delivery) and we will send you an email 2 days before your renewal is processed in case you need to edit your order.
yes, you'll automatically be renewed for a second order based on the type of kit you built. we’ll only charge you in line with your product choices and delivery choices. visit your membership preferences in your account to view and edit your order. send us a quick email at [email protected] or a message on our live chat to adjust or cancel your membership.
it’s simple. you tell us the products that you need, the quantities and different absorbencies you require and we’ll send them to you when you need them. as long as you have any ohne product on a recurring billing cycle (e.g. monthly, every other month) you’re a member! as a member you’ll also get exclusive access to content, new product drops, and first access (always).
no contracts or small print. edit, pause, or cancel whenever you like.
i have a question about shipping and delivery
that’s annoying. sometimes Royal Mail deliver to neighbours, leave parcels in your requested ‘safe place’ or leave a failed delivery note. if your ohne order is nowhere to be seen, send us an email at [email protected] and we’ll make sure you get your products.
oh no! please email [email protected] and we'll get things sorted out for you.
our kits come through the post with Royal Mail. our largest kit fits through most standard UK letterboxes. if you have a particularly tiny letter box then the post lady (or gent) may knock, leave it in your safe place or deliver on an alternative date. our delivery envelopes are pretty nondescript (just in case you don’t want to tell the office you’re on).
we don’t offer next day delivery (yet) but if you need your box urgently, just hit us up on our customer service chat, or ping us an email — we’ll do our absolute best to get your products out to you as quickly as is physically possible (no charge!). good news is we’ll take over the planning from here — so next month your box will be with you before you need it.
yes, shipping with any standard box is always on us! the only tiny exception to this is if you have a coupon code for a free box, then you only pay the £2 shipping.
we currently only ship within the UK. watch this space though…we’ll be shipping to other locations soon! 🌍 shoot us an email at [email protected] if you’d like to see ohne in your country!
in the checkout stage, just tell us when your next period is due and how often it comes. we’ll take it from there. if you have no idea, that’s no problem, we’ll just deliver monthly and if you want to change it at any point, go ahead. it’s free and easy. and don’t sweat it – our period kit boxes will go straight through your letterbox.
i have a question about yin & tonic
of course! yin & tonic was created with a team of certified herbalists, a holistic nutritionist, and some damn impressive certified organic tincture manufacturers together who worked tirelessly on the formula, adding the right ingredients and tweaking to perfection.
warning: we’re about to preach self-care! think back-to-basics wellness — what are the essential things your body needs? good food, enough sleep and a decent amount of moving around. and that pesky one: minimising stressors. easier said than done sometimes, we know, but small changes over time can make a huge difference.
whatever your dietary preferences, try to eat foods that are in as natural a state as possible, avoiding highly refined carbohydrates and processed products. be sure to include heaps of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as a variety of nuts and seeds to ensure a healthy intake of vitamins and minerals.
regular exercise will stimulate circulation, tone muscles and improve your mood. exercise should not be a chore – choose an activity that you enjoy so that you are more likely to stick with the plan! get outside and reconnect with nature with the sun on your face and a spring in your step!
try to keep stress to a minimum by setting aside time alone each day for relaxation, contemplation or meditation. the body has huge healing and regenerative powers of its own – you just need to nurture it.
we know it goes without saying, but please do not take yin & tonic if you have an allergy to any of its ingredients. if you have any doubts at all, please speak to your doctor (it’s always better to be extra safe). if you do have an undesirable reaction whilst taking the formulation, discontinue use.
you’ll have to look elsewhere for a buzz, babe. yin & tonic absolutely cannot get you drunk as the amount of alcohol in a single dose is miniscule.
yin & tonic contains a carefully balanced formulation of six herbs with additional vitamins designed to support you throughout your period.
we could write a love letter to our favourite zingy root: ginger. this mighty ingredient has been long valued as a home remedy for aiding the immune system, supporting heart health and promoting digestive health.
marigold (calendula officinalis)
marigold is just as beneficial as it is stunning — it’s been said to help with relaxation, digestive health and liver function.
fenugreek is an extra nutritive spice that has been traditionally used to enhance wellbeing and support the immune system and digestive system.
a longstanding legend in the herbalist community — cramp bark has been used for centuries as a well-known plant remedy.
motherwort has been used to support menstruation, heart health and nervous system health — what a trifecta.
dong quai, or chinese angelica, is a Chinese herb that has been traditionally used to support wellness.
thiamine, also known as vitamin b1
think of thiamine as your personal energizer bunny — it contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal psychological function and normal functioning of the nervous system.
consider thiamine and vitamin b6 cousins. similarly to thiamine, vitamin b6 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal psychological function, regulation of hormonal activity and the normal function of the immune system. need we say more?
it’s best to check with your doctor or a qualified healthcare professional first.
ginger can be an irritant for people suffering from gastritis or stomach ulceration. if you are taking any medication it is always a good idea to mention to your doctor before taking food supplements, including this product. Do not take yin & tonic if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
nothing r-rated here, babe. while it contains tiny amounts of ethanol, the formulation is suitable for anyone of menstruating age and it’s legal for under 18s to buy it.
again, please check with your doctor first! p.s. we’re wishing you a lovely, healthy and happy pregnancy! 💞
if you’re taking any medication, it’s always a good idea to mention to your doctor before you take a food supplement, so we’d check with the doc first!
incorporate your use of yin & tonic into your existing routines – just pop it into your fave drink. you can add 4ml (about 4 dropper’s worth) of the liquid to water, juice, an elaborate smoothie, a soothing herbal tea – you name it!
yin & tonic is a potent elixir designed to support you throughout your period, naturally. it’’s herbalist-formulated with traditionally used ingredients and added minerals and vitamins.
i have a question about CBD
we love yours, hormonally and we’re sure you will too, but be careful who you’re sharing it with – it’s not for kids, so keep it out of their reach. this product is a food supplement, formulated for adults. seek medical advice if pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any medication. avoid contact with eyes. this product is not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease.
unless you plan on using up all of your cbd oil as fast as you possibly can (relatable), make sure you’re using it within one year of opening. check the bottle for use by date, babe.
storage: store in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
made in the uk
use within one year of opening. check bottle for use-by date.
start off using 2-3 drops and build up to a maximum of one full dropper (0.5ml) per day. just pop the drops under your tongue and hold for 20 seconds for maximum absorption.
ingredients: organic mct oil 49.5% (from coconut), organic avocado oil 49.5%, cbd spectrum extract 1% (thc <0.01%) *allergens in bold.
seek medical advice if pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any medication. do not use if you are allergic to any ingredients. keep out of reach of children. avoid contact with eyes. this product is not intended to treat, cure or prevent any disease.
holy cramp is a cosmetic product containing essential oils that is not intended for oral use so it won’t make a very nice addition to your morning cuppa!
storage: store in a cool place away from direct sunlight.
made in the uk
use within one year of opening. check bottle for use-by date.
before using holy cramp, do a patch test by popping a tiny drop on a small section of your skin to test for allergies. if you experience any irritation, sensitivity or reaction, and this is just common sense, don’t use it again. Do not use on broken or damaged skin or if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients.
start by using 2-3 drops either on your lower belly, lower back or wherever you need some TLC. alternatively, pop a few drops in a steaming bubble bath for ultimate relaxation points.
we’ve included essential oils in holy cramp because not only do they have a bunch of beneficial properties in their own right, they are also known to work in conjunction with the cbd.
hemp seed oil is known as a natural superfood for the skin. argan oil and evening primrose oil have been said to keep your skin healthy and hydrated, and evening primrose oil also helps promote natural balance. lavender oil and lemon oil smell divine and are both used in aromatherapy, and lemongrass oil is super hydrating and has been used to boost energy and refresh the senses. that’s what we call a dream team.
the full ingredients list can be seen below:
ingredients: *hempseed oil (cannabis sativa), *argan oil (argania spinosa l) , *evening primrose oil (oenothera biennis), *lavender essential oil (lavendula augutifolia) , cbd plant extract (cannabidiol), *lemon essential oil (citrus limon) & *lemongrass essential oil (cymbapagan citratus) citral, geraniol, citronellol, coumarin, limonene, linalool.
< 0.1% thc allergens in bold.
*certified organic soil association
as long as a cbd product contains no more than 15% cbd and less than <0.1% thc, cbd is legal in the uk.
ohne ltd do not sell or distribute any products that are in violation of the united kingdom misuse of drugs act 1971. it’s important to note here that, while holy cramp and yours, hormonally will both fit nicely in your hand luggage, it is your responsibility as the customer to ensure that you are in compliance with local legislation. this means if you’re planning to travel outside the uk with any cbd product, check that it’s welcome (and not illegal) in the countries/cities you’re travelling to!
nope! cbd is the non-psychoactive part of the cannabis plant. so, it will never get you high.
thc is the main psychoactive component of the cannabis plant, and is illegal in the uk. however, our cbd is extracted from low thc <0.1% hemp cannabis plants, which means our product only contains trace elements of thc, keeping in line with uk legal requirements.
all ohne cbd products are gluten-free, 100% vegan, and never (ever) tested on animals.
there’s a system in the human body called the endocannabinoid system, which is thought to support a huge range of important biological functions. it is said to help regulate everything from pain and mood to things like appetite and sleep. cannabinoids such as cbd are said to work similarly to the endogenous cannabinoids naturally made by the human body, which are said to evoke cannabinoid receptors found in various systems such as the gut, skin cells, reproductive organs, and the brain, helping to promote natural balance and healing.
full-spectrum cbd extract comes from the flowers of the hemp cannabis sativa plant – yup, the same plant as marijuana. don’t worry though, cbd (or cannabidiol) is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in cannabis and thc is the only one of these that is psychoactive. to get technical for a second, our cbd is extracted using a supercritical co2 extraction process. this allows a wide spectrum of cannabinoids to be safely stripped from the plant – independent of the parts that get you high.
i have a question about ohne pads
don’t flush your pads. seriously, don’t do it.
when you’ve finished with your pad, wrap it in the outer packaging of the next fresh pad you’re going to use and dispose of it in a bin.
rip open your pad wrapper like it's your fave bar of chocolate
remove the pad from the biofilm wrapper and stick the sticky underside to your underwear.
secure the pad in place by folding the wings down and sticking them to the underside of your knickers.
change your pad every 3-4 hours or as often as needed for your flow - whichever happens first!
ohne pads are kind to your body and kind to our planet. the top sheet of an ohne pad is 100% organic cotton, the entire pad is bio-based and 100% biodegradable - even the wrapper.
100% organic cotton topsheet
wrapper made from a compostable biofilm
100% bio based
zero plastic packaging
are ohne pads good for the planet?
ohne pads are as good for the planet as they are for your body — not a shred of plastic in sight — and they won’t be sticking around to haunt our great-great-great-grandkids because ohne pads are totally biodegradable (the average pad sticks around for 500 years. big yikes). the entire pad is 100% bio based with a wrapper made from cornstarch.
i have a question about ohne tampons
ohne products are made in Europe and packed specifically for you in the UK. our European partners have been manufacturing menstrual care products for decades, so they really know their stuff.
while ohne tampons are biodegradable, we do not recommend flushing them as tampons can cause blockages in your plumbing or septic systems.
our tampons are 100% organic cotton which means they're free of nasties and GMOs!
yes! all ohne products are not only GOTS certified, but also certified under the Soil Association too. 💚
the AHPMA and FDA recommends that you change your tampon every 4-8 hours. you should never leave a tampon in for more than 8 hours, and always make sure to use the lightest level of absorbency possible.
remove the applicator tampon from its wrapper.
give the cardboard applicator a little twist to free it up from the ‘locked’ position (usually just a tiny hole in the two pieces of cardboard holding them together).
with your thumb and middle finger, hold the end of the outer applicator tube (the big bit with the tampon inside it) firmly using the anti-slip grip rings (little ridges around the middle of the length of the tampon applicator.
ensure that the string is hanging down through the lower part of the applicator. With your other hand, spread your labia – the folds of skin around your vagina – outwards.
place the rounded end of the applicator at the opening of your vagina with the tip angled towards your lower back. Push it inside you until the part of the applicator you have a grip on reaches the opening of your vagina.
keeping a hold of the base of the outer tube, push the inner tube up as far as it will go inside the outer tube. This will push the tampon up through the outer tube and into your vagina. You will then be able to carefully remove both tubes.
the tampon should feel comfortable inside you. If you can feel it (it may feel like like a dull ache or like it’s pushing against the sides of your vagina) then it needs to be gently pushed further inside until it feels comfortable and unnoticeable.
Remove the tampon from its wrapper by holding the rounded end in one hand and peeling the centre strip before removing the wrapper from either end.
Pull the tampon string downwards, giving it a little tug to make sure it’s secure!
Ease your longest finger into the end of the tampon with the string. This may make the cotton flare slightly.
With your other hand, spread your labia – the folds of skin around your vagina – outwards.
Gently push the tampon in – not vertically up, but angled slightly towards your lower back, as this is the direction of your vagina.
Make sure your tampon feels comfortable inside you. If you can feel it (it might feel like a dull ache or like it’s pushing against the sides of your vagina) then it needs to be gently pushed further inside until it feels comfortable and unnoticeable.
ohne has cardboard applicator tampons which are 100% biodegradable (yes, down to the wrapper!).
ohne tampons follow the standard absorbency rules set by the FDA and AHPMA: light tampons absorb up to 6 grams of liquid, regular 6-9g, super 9-12g, and super+ 12-15g. choose a single absorbency or a mix of everything to give you exactly what you need.
100% organic cotton and (literally) nothing else. companies aren’t required to state what their tampons are made of, but we believe in full transparency (and, besides, we’ve got nothing to hide). 100% organic cotton. period.
unlike your average tampon brand, ohne tampons don’t contain synthetic fibres, chemical additives, fragrance, dyes, chlorine bleach, residues of pesticides or herbicides. we’re being loud and proud about providing 100% organic cotton tampons that are hypoallergenic, unscented, totally biodegradable and made here in Europe.
